Instructors

Gary Aschenbach

Mr. Gary Aschenbach is the owner/operator of LawTech Consulting, a consulting business focusing on interview and interrogation as well as statement analysis techniques.

Mr. Aschenbach was the supervisor of the Drug and Criminal Education Section of the Maryland State Police, having spent eight years as a covert drug enforcement operative and another eight years as a supervisor of various drug units.

Mr. Aschenbach earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. He is also a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and is a certified instructor of the Maryland Police Training Commission in all aspects of drug and criminal enforcement.

Nicholas Mooney

Mr. Nicholas Mooney is currently in private practice as a Partner with Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP.

From 1985-1997, Mr. Mooney served as an Assistant State Attorney with the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida. From 1997-1999, he served as Assistant Statewide Prosecutor – Attorney General of Florida, and from 1999 to the present, as a partner in the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP. Mr. Mooney has been an instructor for MCTFT from 1991 to the present.

Mr. Mooney holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Tampa (1978-1982), and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law (1982-1985).

Brian Sallee

Mr. Sallee is currently a detective with the Albuquerque Police Department in New Mexico.

Mr. Sallee has been a sworn law enforcement officer since 1980 and has worked narcotics since 1989. He has worked undercover, surveillance, search warrants, informant handling, reversal and buy/bust operations, and clandestine labs. He is also qualified as an expert witness for narcotics investigations. He instructs narcotic classes for the Albuquerque Police Academy, Drug Enforcement Administration, International Association of Undercover Officers and for several other police training organizations in the United States.

Mr. Sallee holds a Bachelors Degree in Police Science from New Mexico State University. He is also co-author of “Narcotics Investigations: Working and Surviving.”
