This dynamic 3-day training program offers an unmatched experience for financial investigators and intelligence analysts. In a mixture of case studies and “live investigations”, students will enter into a simulated scenario of a financial intelligence investigation against an ISIS cell engaged in transnational organized crime which will demonstrate the importance and benefits of following the financial footprint through the following:
- Participating in a live-time mission-critical plan to detect, deter, and disrupt an attack on the U.S. homeland;
- Identifying the stages of terrorist activity, such as PPF (Planning, Procurement, and Funding), through the analysis of actual terrorist bank account records;
- Utilizing financial intelligence methods to recognize the radicalization process of a jihadist and the red flags that indicate an imminent threat of a terrorist act;
- Leveraging terrorist financing and proliferation case studies that teach situational awareness techniques in analysis, critical thinking, and investigation skills;
- Understanding the link between Domestic Terrorism and transnational narcotics smuggling activity, its potential impact on the community, and the disruption opportunities against street drug dealers that can arise from the effective use of financial investigation techniques;
- Examining the material and financial intelligence leads gathered from terrorists, drug cartels, and open air drug markets to understanding their impact on identifying the threat;
- Investigating complex proliferation cases, and engaging in knowledge transfer sessions with CTF Investigators.
