Course Length: 8 Hours
Description: This Course covers basic level tracking skills needed to track lost or fleeing subjects in a rural environment. Training includes identifying tracks, types of tracks, and signs of movement through rural terrain, as well as counter-tracking. The course will culminate with a challenging scenario in which officers will have the knowledge to successfully track multiple subjects.
Course Objectives:
- Track a subject using various techniques given during training.
- Control a perimeter and coordinate with other responding units during a training exercise with a live subject.
- Incorporate K9 and Aerial Assets during a lost child/suspect/subject track.
