Course Description – Conspiracies involving the activities of a complex criminal organization with numerous individuals and a variety of crimes are inherently difficult to investigate and successfully prosecute. This course is designed to provide an overview of the basic information needed to ensure prosecution. This conspiracy course utilizes a practical “user” approach to deliver the subject matter. The course content includes an overview of conspiracy, legal aspects, and practical investigator insight and administrative/command issues. The course builds the student’s legal and investigative knowledge and introduces an approach to preparing a prosecutable conspiracy case.
Course Length: 8 hours
Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- “Map” a complex conspiracy investigation effort from the start to ensure prosecution and a conviction.
- Efficiently and effectively use records created by communications devices.
- Write an effective prosecutive summary.
