Course Length:  30 minutes

Purpose:  Many soldiers were discharged from the FLNG last year because they did not understand the proper use of prescription medication.  This training is provided to clear up misconceptions to the policy of the US Army IAW AR 600-85.

Federal regulations limit the duration of controlled substance prescriptions to six months.  The Florida Statute for controlled substance prescriptions are limited by the physician prescription.  A “Prescription” is “written instructions from a physician, dentist, or other authorized medical provider to a pharmacist stating the form, dosage strength, date of expiration, etc, of a drug to be issued to a specific patient.”

Course Objectives:

– Familiarization of the FLNG prescription drug policy
– Be aware that the DoD Prescription Drug Usage limits legal prescription drug usage to six months after being  filled at the pharmacy.
– Be aware of the limitations and safe usage of prescription drugs.
