MCTFT Courtroom Testimony - Sep 17, 2024 02:00 PM EST
This two-hour webinar will focus on training officers on the three key components required for a guilty verdict: investigating cases beyond a reasonable doubt, accurately documenting the investigation, and professionally presenting the case to the jury. Topics will include tips for investigating cases, how to “paint a picture” during direct examination and include a discussion about the most common defense attorney tactics and how to address them during testimony.

This tuition-free, 2-hour Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training webinar will address techniques for assessing offenders through knowledge of interview techniques, body language and eye patterns. This webinar will introduce students in the basics to apply successful interrogation techniques to detect deception or truthfulness in individuals while conducting investigations or obtaining intelligence on crime which may encompass terrorism, drug cartels and gang violence.

Gang members and other violent felons are using firearms to commit crimes at an increasingly alarming rate. Unfortunately proving an offender actually possessed the firearm is getting more difficult for prosecutors to accomplish in constructive possession cases. Patrol officers and detectives through their actions on the scene and following the recovery of the firearm can greatly hurt or help the successful prosecution of the case. Using proper techniques during the recovery of the firearm as well as conducting proper interviews and follow up is critical to the successful prosecution of any firearms case.

As drug trafficking organizations use parcel services more and more to distribute narcotics, we must train officers to identify and handle parcel packages containing contraband. This 2 hour course is designed for law enforcement officers, including general criminal detectives, narcotics agents, and proactive patrol officers. Attendees will learn how to identify packages containing contraband and successfully follow these packages to the drug source.
